New album: Hidden Highways

Back on the highway…

Hidden Highways have announced the release date for Old Hearts Reborn, the duo’s début record. Following a successful Fundit venture last Summer, Carol Anne McGowan and Tim V. Smyth return with the long-awaited follow-up to the outstanding Hidden Highways EP  that I have been desperate to wrap my ears around since first hearing the twosome in early 2012 and I have not been left disappointed.

Label and homebase Out On A Limb have posted a teaser of the new album online in the spectrally folkie shape of ‘Next Time Round’, a ghostly track to leave splinters of Americana in your soul popping Mojave 3‘s ‘Love Songs On The Radio’ into the noggin in the process. Take a listen below.

• Sunday, 15th September:Stag’s Head, Dublin (official album launch)
• Saturday, 21st September: Spirit of Folk Festival, Dunderry Park, Meath.
• Sunday, 6th October: The Wyatt Hotel, Westport, Co. Mayo (guest to Gemma Hayes at Westport Arts Festival)
