Competition : Win tickets to see The Magnetic Fields in Cork
Back in January, the good folk over in the Cork Opera House officially launched a Spring programme containing a diverse bag of goodies from the mercurial Will Oldham – click here to read review – to the kiddy-delighting puppet people who live on Sesame Street*.
On the music front, the calendar was set up nicely with Stephen Merritt’s Magnetic Fields perched proudly at the apex of my own personal top 5 “must-sees” for the coming months.
L.A.’s lyrical lothario leads his troop into the national venue of the year on 29th April with a setlist calling on compositions selected from Merritt’s vast discography which includes the masterpiece that is 69 Love Songs, the incredibly under-rated I and the recently released Love At The Bottom Of The Sea.
To stand a chance of winning a couple of tickets to the potential gig of the year, all you have to do is send a nice email to comps@thegmanworld.com containing :

– your mobile number
– a word that makes you giggle like a schoolgirl+
The winner will be announced on Friday, April 20th. Closing date is 11.59pm (or 23.59) on Thursday, April 19th.
*You may see a guy who looks “similar” to me sitting front row at this one
