New album: Múm
Incredible Icelandic music makers Múm are set to release a rarities record in early Summer.
Early Birds – a compilation of early recordings, rare music and forgotten songs from 1998-2000 or thereabouts, will feature previously unreleased tracks recorded in the years preceding the release of the band’s debut Yesterday Was Dramatic – Today Is OK which would eventually see the glorious light of day in 2000.
Official word from the Múm camp (which, incidentally, is probably in the middle of some beautiful field, decorated with extraordinarily pretty rainbows and flowers):
“Early Birds showcases the formative years and perfectly illustrates this evolution, though at the same time it shows that things could’ve turned out quite differently. Plus, it also proves one other thing: Yesterday was OK, too.”
Both the LP and CD version of the compilation will include a booklet with some words on how each of the compositions came about.
