The Pains of Being Pure At Heart cover The Magnetic Fields
Listening to The Pains of Being Pure At Heart has always felt like a slalom down Patrick’s Hill (a very big hill in Cork) on a pair of newly unwrapped multi-coloured rollerskates. Exciting with a hint of death but you know it’s always going to turn out fine in the end. This means a lot to me as I have terrible balance so for safety reasons I am forever restricted to stroller-blading, a type of roller-blading minus the skates.
An explanation of how this links to the New Yorkers’ recent cover of The Magnetic Fields‘ ‘Jeremy’ is beyond me though. Em…that’s it. Now listen!
