Cave in the castle…
Ballinlough’s annual bash in the middle of the country has again served up something very special with Body & Soul‘s initial line-up announcement including Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds, Kurt Vile & The Violators, Public Image Limited, Solange and Panthu Du Prince i.e. a very eclectic mix of legendary vets and chomping at the bit newbies. Folkies delight in the news that Willy Mason – who was only here the other day! – will be back in June.
As ever there is a running theme throughout the 2013 edition of the festival.
“This year we decided to let you choose our theme. We asked you what the festival meant to you in two words. Over 700 of you replied. Throughout our new website and below is a selection of our favorite submissions. This word play was used to inspire our identity, illustrations, print materials and our website.
We feel this approach is a more atmospheric and poetic way to look at the festival. You make the festival and now you are helping to form its visual identity.
Nice & Bold / Awake & Dreaming / Lost & Found / Wild & Free
Yin & Yang / First & Always / Old & New”
