Limber up those jazz hands…
Summer’s myriad festival distractions means plans for Cork Jazz are sometimes left a little late, meaning no tickets to the top shelf concerts come the end of October so here’s a little heads up on two shows confirmed for the 2015 October bank holiday weekend.
Grammy winning bassist Marcus Miller (Miles Davis, David Bowie, Chuck D) touches down in Everyman Palace on 24th October. For those not too sure of the name, he’s the dude behind the incredibly funky bass on Luther Vandross’ ‘Never Too Much’ and will be playing tracks from his new record, Afrodeezia. Tickets are available here now.
Then on Sunday 25th it’s the return of the outstanding Get The Blessing, featuring Portishead’s rhythm section Jim Barr (bass) and Clive Deamer (drums). This one takes place in Crane Lane and it’s yet to be officially confirmed by the venue but is listed on the tour section of www.theblessing.co.uk.
UPDATE:
They’re all coming out of the woodwork now! GoGo Penguin in Triskel Christchurch on 25th according to their official site.
