Cork Gig Guide: 4th-10th July

This week in Cork: Future Islands, John Blek, Emeli Sandé & more…

Fireworks are foreseen for the 4th July as snake-hipped showman Samuel Herring and his Baltimore cohorts Future Islands celebrate Independence Day with a sold out Cork Opera House show. Following an adrenaline-fuelled performance of ‘Seasons’ on The Late Show with Letterman in 2014, the trio’s synth-pop rocket has fired from an almost empty Irish debut in 2009 to sell out theatres and festival headline status in 2017. Expect to dance.
