Go See BIG|BRAVE in Cork and Dublin
Montreal trio BIG|BRAVE bring controlled noise to Ireland on a two-date tour.
BIG|BRAVE
The three corners of Canadian noise triangle BIG|BRAVE consists of Robin Wattie (vocals/guitar), Mathieu Ball (guitar), and Tasy Hudson (drums). Formed in 2012 by Wattie and Ball (with friend and former drummer Louis Alexandre Beauregard) with an eye on writing some minimalistic folk songs, a broken acoustic guitar ended up being replaced by an electric, before then bigger amps were introduced and it kept getting louder from there.
BIG|BRAVE is at the forefront of reconfiguring the landscape of heavy music.

nature morte
Following the self release of debut record Feral Verdure in 2014, BIG|BRAVE released four albums – Au De La (2015), Ardor (2017), A Gaze Among Them (2019) and VITAL (2021) – on Southern Lords. The trio worked with Rhode Island’s experimental metal duo The Body to co-release the 2022 collaboration Leaving None But Small Birds. Hattie informed her lyrical and narrative work on nature morte from this experience, inspired by the essence of folk tales that “are at once specific and universal.” Released this year on Thrill Jockey, nature morte is an artistic French term to denote still life paintings whose literal translation is “dead nature.”
Jessica Moss
The twin Irish dates will see the return of avant-klezmer violinist and compatriot Jessica Moss. The regular Godspeed You! Black Emperor collaborator played Plugd Records back in in 2018 and is travelling with BIG|BRAVE for the Ireland and UK dates of their European tour. Síorraí Geimhridh (Irish for Eternal Winter) also feature on the Cork bill.
