Arena Live at The Printworks (23rd January)
RTE Radio 1’s evening culture show Arena is set to broadcast live from this year’s Tradfest. Sean Rocks and team will welcome in some of the top headliners from this year’s festival to chat and perform a tune or two live. Guests include Dervish, Mairéad Ní Mhaonaigh, Louise Mulcahy, Dani Larkin, Navá, BRÍDÍN, JigJam, Lorcán Mac Mathúna and Natalya O’Flaherty.

Women in Trad and Folk at The National Stadium (28th January)
Mairéad Ní Mhaonaigh of Altan curates an evening of wonderful trad and folk at The National Stadium. A celebration of women in music coincides with Imbolc, a Spring festival associated with Brigid, Ireland’s goddess of fertility and a Spring festival that celebrates the turning of the year from darkness into light. Ní Mhaonaigh’s guests include Mary Chapin Carpenter, T with the Maggies, Sí Fiddlers, BRÍDÍN, Edwina Guckian and Caoimhe Hopkinson.
Dervish at The National Stadium (26th January)
Speaking of Dervish, the Sligo group described as an icon of Irish music” present a performance of their 2018 release, The Great Irish Song Book, as part of this year’s TradFest. Taking place at The National Stadium, Dervish have asked a number of pals along to celebrate the occasion including Ralph McTell, Eddi Reader, Tim O’Brien and Cara Dillon.

Saíocht at Swords Castle (28th January)
Saíocht brings together a number of different guests in order to take a look at the “artistic relationship between the Irish literary tradition and Irish traditional music”. Hosted by Irish traditional musicians Louise & Michelle Mulcahy and award winning actor Stephen Rea, this special night of music and words will feature guests from different sides of the creative line.

Muireann nic Amhlaoibh at The Pepper Canister Church (28th January)
One of Ireland’s finest sean nós singers, Muireann nic Amhlaoibh is a multi-award winning traditional singer and musician from Corca Dhuibhne, West Kerry. Former lead singer with Irish traditional supergroup Danú, nic Amhlaoibh recently performed an album of sean nós songs arranged by contemporary Irish arrangers with the Irish Chamber Orchestra under the title Róisín Reimagined.
