3 Gigs to see in Cork this week
The summer sun welcomes a host of top names to Cork across the next seven days. Now is the chance to pick up tickets and make some memories. From the Cork Midsummer Festival to album launches and popstars in the park, there are options a-plenty for gig goers and concert fans.
Ye Vagabonds at The Everyman (Wednesday 22nd June)
Brothers Mac Gloinn celebrate the launch of their beautiful new record midweek on MacCurtain Street. Nine Waves is a blend of rewired traditional tunes and original Ye Vagabonds songs and sees the Carlow duo continue on from their recent RTÉ Radio One Folk Award-winning ways.
Sharon Van Etten at Cork Opera House (Thursday 23rd June)
Cork Midsummer Festival pulled off a serious coup in announcing Sharon Van Etten‘s first ever visit to Cork. A long-term low trees favourite, the New Jersey native released her sixth studio album, We’ve Been Going About This All Wrong, earlier this year. This one has the not-to-be-missed tag stickered all over it.
Mama’s Broke at Coughlan’s
Canadian folk duo Mama’s Broke pull into County Cork with a couple of shows planned for the weekend. For further info, check out the previous low trees update here.
More shows?
The top three didn’t even include Just Mustard’s rearranged show, The Chemical Brothers doing their thing and more. For the full rundown, see the Cork Gig Guide here.
