Cork Gig Guide: 11th-17th July
This week in Cork: Fleet Foxes, Valerie June, Happy Abandon & more…
Following Future Islands nearly blowing the roof off of Cork Opera House last week, Robin Pecknold and Fleet Foxes play a double date in the same venue, continuing the Emmet Place auditorium’s impressive contemporary summer line-up. If around Cork, pick up a copy of Totally Cork magazine to catch up on a chat I had with Robin Pecknold ahead of this week’s Tuesday (sold out) and Wednesday night shows.
Elsewhere, fresh from a spring appearance on Later…with Jools Holland, Tennessee starlet Valerie June visits Leap (Friday) and Live at St. Luke’s (Saturday) to introduce fans to songs from new record, The Order of Time and Douglas indie shop MusicZone promote their first live show with Happy Abandon set for a Thursday night show in Coughlan’s. For an interview on this blog with the band, click here.
