Cork Gig Guide: 28th March – 3rd April
Following a superbly received set in Levis’ last Friday, The 3 Will Tour comes to Cork City with a first ever gig hosted by vintage clothes shop Carousel on Oliver Plunkett Street. See the latest edition of Totally Cork magazine for an article I wrote following a chat with the 3 Will trio of Paul Creane, Paula Cox and The Man Whom.
For those who want to munch on some crunch, look no further than synth-rock trio No Spill Blood‘s first visit to Cork in quite some time. Fellow ear-smashers Horse and Jogging join NSB in Fred’s on Saturday night. Featuring another group of three acts, the Big Giant Head Tour showcase comes to Cork with the aim of introducing three new emerging Irish acts: HAWK, BARQ and Harbouring Oceans. From shoegaze to soul, there is no headliner for the Cyprus Avenue (Thursday) or Connolly’s (Friday) shows but hopefully something for everyone at both.
Also going down around town this week:
- New weekly session, Tunesday, in Mr. Bradley’s (Tuesday)
- CIT Battle of the Bands final in Cyprus Avenue (Wednesday)
- Cork Improvised Music Club in Gulpd (Thursday)
- Patrick Freeman in Brú (Thursday)
- Guilty Optics in Fred’s (Friday)
- Instore performance from Clare Sands in Musiczone (Saturday)
