This week in Cork: Little Green Cars, Talos, Badly Drawn Boy, Glen Hansard & more…
With the weather outside unable to make up its mind whether to be frosty or wet, Cork’s live music year continues to shine right until the last days with no sign of letting up in December. Dublin indie-folk five Little Green Cars play an acoustic show in The Everyman on Tuesday night. For last year’s G-Man interview with Little Green Cars‘ Stevie Appleby click here. Legendary punk drummer Richie Ramone beats out on Caroline Street with a Cyprus Avenue date for Wednesday. Talos signs off a successful year – both at home and abroad – with a gig in the same venue with indie rock pals Pale Rivers (Friday) while Caoimhín Ó’Raghallaigh & Cormac Begley (Friday) and Badly Drawn Boy (Saturday) preach from the Live at St. Luke’s altar.
Glen Hansard is in town for a couple of sold out shows with a happy birthday Connolly’s bash taking place in Leap while proceeds from Monday’s Coughlan’s show being directed towards the Peter McVerry Trust. Sticking with Connollys, The late night Floating Joints XI party travels to the Leap outpost with Meltybrains?, Le Boom, Toby Kaar, Caoilian Sherlock and more in charge of celebratory duties.
