The Corner Room: Rachel Grimes
Kentucky pianist’s orchestral manoeuvres in Louisville…
With a CV already boasting Kentucky chamber group The Rachel’s, several beautiful solo records and the incomparable King’s Daughters & Sons, Kentucky composer Rachel Grimes jumped at the chance to debut work with a major orchestra. Performed by The Louisville Orchestra with music director Teddy Abrams at the helm at their own Festival of American Music, the story behind the pieces’ transition from piano to full orchestra outing is documented diligently by U.S. film production company and now web tv series makers Music Makes a City Now.
