Cork Gig Guide: 8th-14th December 2015

This week in Cork: Hypnotic Brass Ensemble, Little Green Cars, Patrick Freeman, Maud In Cahoots and more.
Dublin folk-rockers Little Green Cars fire up the run of Christmas shows taking place in St. Luke’s as part of the returning Live At St. Luke’s sessions. LGC play Friday evening with the many members of Hypnotic Brass Ensemble piling onto the altar on Saturday night. I caught up with Little Green Cars a few weeks ago so see here for a chat I had with guitarist Stevie Appleby.

Other standout shows from around town see Dublin-based but Cork-adopted songwriter Patrick Freeman bring songs from his new album, Cherry Blossom Falls, to Triskel Project Space for a full band show featuring bits and bobs of The Great Balloon Race and O Emperor; John Blek & The Rats spin down to Cobh for a date in Sirius Arts Centre (both Saturday); and Dublin duo Maud In Cahoots pop up The Crane Lane Theatre with a late night show on Sunday.
