Cork Gig Guide: 1st-7th December 2015
This week in Cork: O Emperor, Laurie Shaw, Gaz Coombes, Donal Dineen conquers Cobh and more.
A night of talk and tunes presented by DJ and bringer-of-beautiful-sounds Donal Dineen stands out on this week’s calendar the Kerry native invites members of high-flying Lynched and The Shaker Hymn out east for an evening in Sirius Arts Centre. There’s a train/entrance ticket special available too so don’t let that stop you venturing down to Cobh. Full details over on www.siriusartscentre.ie.
The previous night sees the return of O Emperor who play The Pav on Thursday. Presented by Coughlan’s, this concert comes complete with special guests Saint Sister. (UPDATE: postponed, see below image)
Topping off a trio of top shows this week is former Supergrass front-man Gaz Coombes who brings songs from his critically acclaimed solo record Matador to Cork and Cyprus Avenue for the very first time. That one takes place Saturday and it might be advisable to get tickets in advance as Supergrass have retained quite a following over the years.
