Weekly Cork gig guide: 14th-20th July 2015
This week in Cork: The Cave Sessions, Noel Gallagher, Punk on Film season and more.
It’s mid July so we’re going deeper underground with the return of Cork Opera House’s subterranean summer session. From the homegrown songwriting talents of David Kitt and Lisa O’Neill to international folkies – and firm blog favourites – This Is The Kit, The Cave truly offers a unique gig experience. See here for the details.
Oasis mastermind Noel Gallagher returns to Cork for the first time since 1996’s Pairc Uí Chaoimh performance, when the Manchester rockers were truly at the peak of their pomp. This one’s happening midweek, Tuesday, Live at the Marquee.
Film fans take note that it’s punk season with four nights of punk-related docs to screen in Triskel Christchurch beginning with Julien Temple’s Sex Pistols doc The Filth & The Fury on Sunday. For the full rundown see here.
