I’m a bit behind on a my consumer posts so I’ll get my record store day acquisitions up here over the next couple of days. Until then, here are the last couple of records that I got my paws on from Plugd in Cork. When was the last time you popped into your local shop and what did you pick up? Please feel free to share in the comments section.

Cate Le Bon – Mug Museum

I asked for a recommendation and a recommendation is what I received in the wonderful sway and vigour of Cate Le Bon’s Mug Museum. The third record from the Welsh singer completely evaded my record radar upon release at the tail-end of 2013 but wrongs have been righted and I am loving nothing better than spinning this one from start to finish right now. Can the extraordinary be subtle? Apparently so.

Quilt – Quilt

An insatiable hunger for Quilt’s second record Held In Splenour led me to my local audio feeding ground a little prematurely. You see the album came out in January in the U.S. but the release date was scheduled a little later for Ireland and the U.K. It has since hit record shelves but I did manage to comfort myself by grabbing a copy of the Boston foursome’s debut album which is well worth a listen, especially the breezy opener ‘Young Gold’.
