New music: Tacocat

Cool for (Psychic Death) Cats…
When it comes to new music, Hardly Art Records has become a personal happy hunting ground with the Seattle indie label the home to pristine alt-pop bands such as La Luz, Colleen Green and Seapony. The terrifically titled Tacocats are in the same vein but punkier, grittier with a whole cheek full of tongue. They also write the best biographies in rock. I’m not topping this:
“Like a fluorescent-lit snack-aisle oasis in some desolate interstate road stop, brimming with Skittles and limited-edition Sno Balls, Tacocat’s Easter-egg-hued pop-punk-pop is bubblegum-sticky with hooks, bound to brighten up the most drab stretch of bummer backroad.”
Bassist Bree McKenna also plays in the ever-educational, family-lovin’ funsters Childbirth. I should just move to Seattle I think, I hear it rains less than Cork.
