Weekly Cork Gig Guide: 19th-25th August 2013
Oh no, I’m missing Low…
Little over a year ago Duluth denizens Low washed over a Cyprus Avenue crowd in what was to become one of my favourite ever gigs in the Caroline Street venue. The slowcore kings and queen combine visceral and cerebral like no others would even dare. Due to some incredible cock-up in travel times I’m not going to make it back to Leeside for this one on Monday evening. For those who can, GO! If further arm twisting is required, read the review of last year’s show here.
At the other end of the week brace yourself to climb Barrack Street for the return of Mayors of Miyazaki who round off another Irish mini-tour with the help of one of Cork’s most exciting new bands i.e. newly formed noise-pop warriors Elastic Sleep in Bradley’s of Barrack Street.
