Grand days ahead for Granby…
Pop-up record stores and pop-up boutiques have become the norm in recent times but a pop-up park? Such a place has opened at Dominick Street, Dublin on a regeneration site that had been abandoned by the local council due to the recent the problems with money i.e. nobody seems to have any. Thanks to Upstart, Granby Park – formerly occupied by council flats – has been transformed into site into “a place of creativity, nature, imagination, play and beauty for everyone.” For the next four weeks at least.
The audacious challenge completed, word of several gigs has filtered out in recent days with Tieranniesaur, little xs for eyes and I Heart The Monster Hero all set to perform free shows in the temporary park over the next month or so.
Announced so far:
- August 24th – Fading Light: little xs for eyes, Ocho, Biggles Flys Again, Sfumato and Ana Gog (2pm)
- September 13th – I Heart The Monster Hero Ickis Mirolo and School Tour (6.30pm)
- September 21st – Minimum Maximum: Tieranniesaur, Lethal Dialect, Idiot Songs, Charmers and Liza Flume (3pm)
