Chic confirm Cork date

Rodgers readies his feel-food favourites for Leeside…

Uncross those hopeful digits as the news we were hoping for on Leeside has been confirmed: Chic will play Cork in October 2013. Led of course by musical visionary Nile Rodgers and his trusty stratocaster (aka “the hit-maker”), the creators of disco diamonds such as ‘Le Freak’, ‘Good Times’ and ‘Dance, Dance, Dance’ had already revealed details for an October Irish tour which will see the perpetual party visit Limerick on 25th (The Big Top), Galway on 27th (Róisín Dubh), Dublin on 29th & 30th (Vicar Street). Sandwiched nicely inbetween those dates on the 26th will be a Jazz Festival stop-off at Cork Opera House.

If they put on a show half as good as they did down in west Cork last year, (Liss Ard review here) then hips will be-a-jivin’ and smiles will be-a-beamin’ come the end of the October bank holiday weekend. This is very good news indeed.
