Amiina, The National, Elvis Costello, Midsummer madness and more all this week in Cork…
From a dozen spectators to 5,000, The National‘s pull in Cork certainly has grown since they first played Leeside way back when. That poor turn-out in the Triskel Arts Centre all those years ago will be firmly left behind on Friday as the Dessners, Devendorfs and Berninger play to a sold out (within hours) capacity audience at The Marquee. With new record Trouble Will Find Me hitting the shelves (both physically and virtually) only recently, the Cincinatti alt-rockers arrive both refreshed and revitalised. Brighton boys Tall Ships support.
Much earlier in the week (as in later this evening), Icelandic diamonds Amiina return to Cork Opera House to team up with local sixth class students for possibly the most heart-warming performance of the year.
