Angel and Nadler, at it again…
Massachusetts-born folk singer and artist Marissa Nadler has once again linked up with Angel Olsen, Chicago’s finest voice this time to record a stripped-down version of Richard & Linda Thompson‘s ‘Withered and Died’. Having previously released a similarly lofi version of Texan songwriter Mickey Newbury‘s ‘Frisco Depot’, it looks like the magnificent twosome are slowly but surely compiling a covers EP or maybe even an album fuelled by Nadler’s track comments “Angel Olsen and I have been working on some cover songs which I’m very excited about….Stay tuned for more in the future”. Stream both tracks using the players below. Maybe we’ll even get to hear a live solo rendition of one or the other when Olsen visits Cork in May.
NEWSFLASH: Word is out that Angel Olsen has signed with Jagjaguwar, also home to Bon Iver, Sharon Van Etten, Okkervil River and a whole other bunch of incredibly gifted artists. For the full announcement details simply click here.
