Festival news: Longitude announce initial line-up
3-D delight for Kraftwerk fans as Ireland’s newest festival announces first headliners…
Kraftwerk (complete with full 3-D show), Vampire Weekend and Phoenix all meander down Marley Park way in July with the three headliners sparking all sorts of frenzied festival excitement when the initial line-up announcement was made over on the official Longitude website earlier this evening. Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Foals, Hot Chip, Modest Mouse and more indietastic festival faves were included in the first roll-call. Of particular interest and located lower down the bill almost hidden amongst the smallprint are Liverpudlian psych-folk trio Stealing Sheep who appeared in this blog’s top 10 albums of the year for 2012 (#7 to be precise – see here for a recap). Villagers, Mmoths, Kodaline, The Cast Of Cheers and Young Wonder are the first Irish bands confirmed for the three day bash.
Early bird tickets are priced at €44.50 (day) and €129.50 (3-day weekend) and go on sale on Monday, 4th March at 9am.
