Forbidden Fruit: Countdown to orchard ordeals – 19 days to go
Forbidden Fruit emphatically introduced herself to the June bank holiday party people last year with the Kilmainham-situated festival’s first ever line-up consisting of the talented likes of Flaming Lips, Caribou and Aphex Twin.
The motley band of – eh- bands that make up the 2012 listings elevates the fruity festival’s reputation a notch even further. For the next three weeks videos from confirmed acts will appear every day on the blog to give readers a chance to familiarise themselves with those who will be ripping up the Kilmainham gardens come June or simply to prod the excitement levels a little before the big weekend.

Why?: Less than a year ago, the operatically voiced Katie Stelmanis and her cohorts mesmerized a bewitched Cyprus Avenue crowd with 60 minutes of pumping pop hooks that oozed simmering sexuality and bumping electronic beats – click here to read review. Who?: Julia Holter
When?: Monday – June 4th
Why?: L.A. multi-instrumentalist Julia Holter‘s second full LP Ekstasis has already self-pencilled itself on to many’s album of the year longlist. Similarly to the aforementioned Katie Stelmanis, Holter is classically trained resulting in intelligently baked pop-pie that will have the Kilmainham crowd salivating come June 4th.
