Low for Cyprus Avenue
Duluth slowcore sages Low featured at no. 3 on The G-Man Top 50 Albums of the Year list for 2011 so the excitement dial flickered quite violently when I heard the news that Alan, Mimi and Steve are set to play Vicar Street in July. The machine basically caught fire when it was revealed the trio would play their own headlining show in Cyprus Avenue come Summer 2012.
The moulders of minimalistic masterpieces such as Things We Lost in the Fire, The Great Destroyer and last year’s C’Mon will play the Munster IMRO venue of the year for 2012 on Wednesday, 11th July with tickets going on sale Friday (TBC). I have said it before and I will say it again: potential gig of the year.
