The Pavilion becomes a Popical Island 2
Last Monday it was announced that a trio of Popical Island bands would temporarily make Cork’s The Pavilion their home on February 11th – see here for details. It now looks like the Dublin collective are making a weekend of it as fellow Islanders The Walpurgis Family, who release their latest album Dawn in the Crawdaddy later this month (see here), make an appearance in the same venue on the 12th.
For those who require more formal introductions the The Walpurgis Family are Jeroen Saegeman (on guitars and vocals), Wil McDermott (on bass, keys and vocals) and Ruan van Vliet (on drums). The indie-pop starlets released debut offering Midsummer Party in 2010 and have appeared on both Popical Island compilations to date including Popical Island II which featured a slightly more primitive version of ‘Something Wild’, which has been rerecorded and is set to feature on Dawn when it is released on January 28th.
