Cork Gig Guide (Dec 19th-Jan 1st)
The Christmas period is upon us so expect the live music listings to be full of local talent who have come home to fill up on turkey and biscuits. The Pavilion seems to be the hotspot on Christmas week with that itty. bitty guitar swinging West Cork Ukulele Orchestra (Dec 21st), local legends The Frank & Walters (Dec 23rd) and the poppy/not-so-poppy Slow Motion Heroes (Dec 28th) all playing shows in The Pav before the end of 2011…
Elsewhere The David Nelligan Thing strut their stuff in Mr. Bradley’s (Dec 20th), Fred play their last hometown show of the year (Dec 22nd) in the Triskel, likewise Mick Flannery in De Barra’s in Clon on the 29th while And So I Watch You From Afar once again attempt to hit the Crane Lane with their own brand of wrecking ball, instrumental rock.
One gem neatly hidden away among all the below is current Mallow resident Martin Finke who pops into Mr. Bradley’s on December 28th for what is sure to be a very memorable fireside session.
