Videos from Sí’s album launch
Fellini Tearoom proved to be an elegant host on Friday, October 23rd with the antique shop/café providing a perfect setting for the launch of Great Expectations, the debut album from Síle Ní Dhubhghaill aka Sí.
Apple pies, chocolate cakes, ornamental tea sets and veggy curry were munched on a wet, drizzly evening before Laura Sheeran, supporting on the night and who has since launched her own new EP Murderous Love, performed a stripped down set of songs (including a duet with Sí to finish off the set) to a very appreciative crowd.
The main event saw Síle alternate between harp (such an impressive looking and sounding instrument when witnessed live) and piano, accompanied on a few numbers by Caitriona Considine on violin who also appears on the album. Personal favourites on the night were ‘I Was Made of Stars’ and ‘Watching You Sleeping’ which saw a rare outing for the ole gee-tar. A beautiful rendition of a jazz standard (still to find out the name of this tune) wrapped the night up on a high note.
