Cornered Folk
Sheesh The Twisted Pepper is a busy place these days: Elastic Witch have thrown open their doors, barbers are chopping hair, books are being sold, coffee consumed all over the shop and now a new showcase, under the title of ‘Cornered Folk‘, is about to blink open its folkdust-filled eyes.
Hello Moon, who will play the inaugural event on Saturday December 10th, have been pricking up ears all over Dublin recently and only last week appeared on a G-Man Playlist (ooooo you say!) which you can listen to at the bottom of the post.
According to Brian Nally (‘Cornered Folk’s brainchild, himself an extremely active member of the Dublin music scene with Beyond Olden Acre, Mrs Healy’s First Class Choir, and The Followers of Otis) :
“The show aims to foster the ‘folk’ ideals of camaraderie and fellowship among bands without being specific to the folk genre. We also want the gigs to maintain an intimacy with the audience that might be lacking in other venues, which is why we chose to run the night out of the Loft Bookshop.”
A nice addition is the availability of a compilation on the night (for just €2) featuring tracks from the bands taking part. For more info check out the official facebook page here.
