Remember The Quad?
If you missed the last ever gig (or you were present and want to see how sweaty and “sexy” you look when you are really, really drunk) in the now defunct Quad, this Thursday night will give you a chance to glimpse forty minutes of highlights of a night that featured manic performances from Ten Past Seven, KVX, Hope Is Noise and plenty more.
Gulpd (Plugd Records café and home to Paula Larkin’s amazing Sugar Moon vegan cakes) has become the new home for Zaum (which found itself orphanized when The Quad closed back in June) and kicks off on Thursday night (October 13th) with a screening of The Final Quad Gig (by Petr Stary). The forty minute film will be followed by performances from Dan G, Three Cows and a Cow (puppets are promised*) and Clang Boom Steam. The latter will be performing Tom Waits material featuring members of Lamp, Ten Past Seven and Charlie Don’t Surf.
For anyone who wasn’t at this on Friday night let me tell you that it looks like there are going to be some cracking intimate gigs in the place. Sure were we ever in any doubt with those Plugd folk involved?
Price of admission? FREE. You can RSVP to the facebook event by clicking here if that kind of thing tickles your tickley bits.
