Triple delight this week in the Triskel
Brad Mehldau is set to fill the haunting hall of the Christchurch with the notes of his lone piano this week with a solo performance on Tuesday, September 13th i.e. tomorrow.
Mehldau is touring Live in Marciac, the American’s latest album which is a live double cd featuring tracks pulled from his long discography including covers of Radiohead and Nirvana songs.
Tickets are priced at €35 and can be purchased online from the official Triskel website or from their box office which is located on Tobin Street in Cork City.

Later in the week the same venue welcomes Iarla Ó’Lionáird on Saturday night (Sept. 17th). The mastermind behind the multi-million selling Afro Celt Sound System only recently graced a Cork stage when shared with his fellow members of The Gloaming but the man returns with his own original offerings on Saturday as he prepares for the release of Foxlight at the end of September. The entire album is available for streaming below.

Sandwiched in between these two legends is none other than Chris Thile. If you do not know the name you may know one of his bands, Nickel Creek and/or Punch Brothers, for which he provides mandolin and vocals.
