Label Round-Up

Quick catch-up from around the record labels. This post shall grow over the next few months which may result in multiple posts but for now enjoy the below!

Fleet Foxes will play Later.. this Friday night
(and the Tuesday just gone but a little late for that now isn’t it?) as the build-up to the release of their Helplessness Blues album goes up a notch. The album is set for release on the 2nd May in the U.K. but that should mean the 29th April in Ireland and the band kick off their European tour in Berlin on May 25th.

Beating the Seattle band to the punch is Alessi’s Ark who release their album, Time Travel, the week before on the 22nd April in Ireland (25th in the U.K.). Check out Alessi Laurent-Marke’s interpretation of Leslie Gore’s “Maybe I Know”, which appears on the album, below.

April/May is a pretty big month for Bella Union with Explosions In The Sky’s Take Care, Take Care, Take Care, the bands first album in four years, hitting the shelves in time for Record Store Day 2011 last weekend. You can stream the whole thing over on their official website. The Austin band play Vicar Street in Dublin on May 16th.

The last drop of news is some U.K. tour dates for Cashier No.9, the labels newest recruits which you can view here. No album news as of yet but a couple of tracks can be streamed on their bandcamp page here.
