Large Capacity Venue to be Unveiled in Cork this September
Cork Docklands will finally have a venue for large events, gigs, shows etc. and it arrives in an unlikely package….
The ARC Event Centre, to be erected and ready for September, will have a seating capacity of 5,000 and will cover 40,000 square feet.
At first glance the ARC looks like a cross between an aeroplane hangar and a fancy large tent but rather than knock the announcement I will keep my ears open for the first announcements and only judge after I have attended a show or two. In saying that it will be very interesting to see what kind of acts/events will be booked. Safe money is on large functions (See Bodies ) and safe pop acts such as Rihanna, Lady Gaga etc.
Fingers crossed the likes of Arcade Fire may slip into this bracket every now and then….
