G-Man Artist of the Week : Department of Eagles

In Ear Park was released at the end of 2008 and the “Eagles” have slowly but surely gained a sizeable following thanks to some glowing reviews ( see Pitchforks review ) from various sources. Another side project/splinter band, which is becoming more and more common nowadays (see The Postal Service, Shearwater), that has blossomed into something so much more to be simply pushed away to the side anymore, the album blends folk into electronica.

Department of Eagles aka Daniel Rossen (from the band Grizzly Bear) and Fred Nicolaus were heavily tipped to be venturing across the Atlantic to perform at this Summers (is it actually Autumn? That just does not seem right….) Electric Picnic festival so fingers crossed….
